Jakarta – Badan Intelijen Negara (BIN) launched three official accounts. In response to the increasing use of social media (social media) and as a way to introduce the values of Pancasila to the community, especially the younger generation.
“In the midst of a fast-moving world, BIN considers it necessary to have an official account on social media. This is one way to introduce the values of Pancasila to the public, especially to the younger generation,” said Deputy VII of Communication and Information Division at BIN Wawan Hari Purwanto in an official statement on Tuesday.
The three are binofficial_ri (Instragram), binofficial_ri (Twitter) and binofficial.ri (Facebook). This step was also taken to complete the information needs of the community which had so far only sourced from the official BIN website (www.bin.go.id).
According to Wawan, the presence of BIN’s official social media account is an elaboration of Undang-Undang Nomor 14 Tahun 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information, but by continuing to stress the importance of confidentiality in accordance with Undang-Undang Nomor 17 Tahun 2011 concerning State Intelligence.
Social media is a virtual space that is much favored by everyone, including the young generation. With the official social media account of BIN, it is hoped that BIN will get closer to millennials to jointly create positive public space.
Aside from being a means to socialize various current issues, this official social media account is also expected to be able to bring BIN closer to the wider community.
“With this official account, the public is expected to no longer trust social media accounts that claim to be named BIN,” Wawan said.
BIN also invites the public to continue to use social media intelligently and wisely. In this case, the public is expected to be able to upload positive content according to Pancasila values, counteract hoaxes, expressions of hatred and radicalism. (Ant)
