Jakarta – Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Anwar Makarim launched online the Merdeka Belajar policy episode V, namely the Mover Teacher in Jakarta, Friday.
“The Mover Teacher Program is the most important program within the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). Why? Because no matter how good the educational technology, no matter how good the curriculum, educational infrastructure, cannot replace the Mover Teacher role to transform school culture to students,” Nadiem said in his remarks.
The Minister of Education and Culture added that The Mover Teachers are the spearhead because they are driving education in real terms. In the end, education reform in the country must start and end with the teacher who leads the education units and classes. Therefore, changes must occur. “This is the most important initiative at the Ministry of Education and Culture at this time,” he said.
Nadiem explained that the Mover Teacher was the spearhead of the transformation of education in the country. The Mover teacher plays an important role in achieving the goal of Free Learning, namely Pancasila Students who have seven criteria, namely faith, devotion to God and virtuous, creative, mutual cooperation, global diversity, critical reasoning, and independence.
Nadiem believes that the Mover Teacher actually already exists in every region and school. But it has not yet come to the surface.
The Ministry of Education and Culture will encourage the Mover Teachers to become leaders of the education unit in the future, which will create a superior generation.
Movers teacher is different from good teachers, where Movers teacher encourages student growth and development holistically, becomes a coach for other teachers so that learning can be centered on students, become role models and agents of change in the education ecosystem.
“Good teachers only perform in their classrooms, but Mover Teachers have other impacts. It has an impact on other teachers, on their schools and also becomes a torch on their education units. Even outside,” said Nadiem again.
The Ministry of Education and Culture conducts recruitment of prospective Teachers candidates both PNS and honorary teachers. Then there will be an education program for prospective teachers, and after graduation they will become a new generation of educational leaders.
