Jakarta – President Joko Widodo emphasized that a locally based intervention strategy is the most effective strategy in dealing with COVID-19 issues in the country.
This was conveyed by the President during a visit to the Central Java Province COVID-19 Handling Command Post in the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building, Central Java Governor’s Office Complex, Tuesday.
“In my opinion the current position of the locally based intervention strategy is the most effective,” the President said in his direction as watched through a video conference, in Jakarta, Tuesday.
The president cited the strategy of quarantining, isolating RTs, RWs, villages o more effectively than quarantining cities or regencies.
“This is more effective. So this strategy is to be used together so that we expect a decline (COVID-19),” he said.
On this occasion, the President thanked for the hard work of all ranks of the Provinces in Central Java in handling COVID-19.
He hopes that in July all regional leaders will work hard so that Central Java can be completely free from the COVID-19 pandemic and the economy can crawl to a normal growth again.
As for the local-based intervention strategy, previously Chairman of the National Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling of COVID-19 Doni Monardo also said that the local wisdom approach was important in handling COVID-19.
He said regional leaders to the village head could use languages that were easily understood by the community, such as regional languages, in conducting socialization related to health protocols, including involving all elements and community leaders in the area. (Ant)
