[ENSIKLOPEDI] Pria berpangkat Letnan Jenderal (Purn) kelahiran Banjaran, Jawa Barat, 1 Maret 1941 ini merupakan hakim konstitusi tertua. Maka dialah yang memimpin rapat pertama Mahkamah Konstitusi untuk memilih pimpinan Mahkamah Konstitusi.
Anggota Majelis Pakar DPP PPP ini diangkat jadi hakim konstitusi atas pilihan DPR. Jenderal berbintang tiga ini mengawali karir sebagai Perwira Penelaah Asisten Penindakan (DITA) 1971 dan terakhir sebagai Kepala Pembinaan dan Pengajaran juang Departemen teknologi dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Seskoad 1985.

Born in Banjaran, 1 March 1941, Achmad Roestandi finished his bachelor degree in law in the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, Bandung in 1964. He, then, continued his career in military and resigned with the last rank as a Lieutenant General. This former chief of TNI (the Indonesian Military Troops) fraction in the People’s Consultative Assembly hopes that the Constitutional Court Justices can be the Guardian of Constitution.
According to this father of six children, who got some awards such as Bingtang Dharma, some of the challenges of the Constitutional Court Justices are the thick flow of intervention and pressure, either from the infra and supra political structure in fighting for their interests. mk
