Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) congratulated the National Police (Polri) on its 74th anniversary and called on the Polri to help in overcoming health problems and economic problems amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On behalf of the people, nation and country, I wish you a happy 74th Bhayangkara day to every police officer and the big family of Polri in Indonesia, wherever you are assigned,” President Joko Widodo said from the Jakarta State Palace, Wednesday.
The President also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all members of the Indonesian National Police who gave their best sacrifices and contributions.
According to the President, members of the National Police have contributed greatly in maintaining security, order, enforcing the law, to providing shelter and services to the community.
“Thank you and highest appreciation for the dedication, sacrifice, and contribution of all of you in order to maintain security, maintain order in enforcing the law, and provide shelter and service to the community,” he said.
The president also invited the whole community to pray for the soldiers who died while on duty.
“In order to be given a noble place in the sight of God Almighty and to all personnel of the National Police and the family is always given health,” said the President.
On the same occasion the President stressed that the National Police must be with the people to fight, endeavor, and work hard in overcoming health problems and economic problems amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In this difficult situation the presence and involvement of all ranks of the National Police is urgently needed starting from the ranks of the Headquarters, Regional Police, Police, and Sector Police, Babinkantibmas in the villages must be involved in inviting the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols, actively overseeing the accuracy of the distribution of social aid, and of course maintaining security and order so that the situation remains safe and peaceful,” he said.
